D'banj Arrested, Regained Freedom

A popular Nigeria musician D'banj was recently arrested and detained by independence currupt practices commission ICPC in connection with N-Power Scheme national fraud.  D'banj was arrested for questioning in regarding a N-Power beneficiary money running into millions of naira. It was stated that D'banj corroborated with some government officials to perpetrate the crime.  D'banj after spending 72 hours in detention and helping the authority with their investigations, it was stated that the musician has no links with whomsoever was claimed to be the government officials to perpetrate the fraud. It was a disappointment, and embarrassment on the part of the ministry of humanitarian, to have alleged and embarrass D'banj for N-Power Scheme beneficiary money fraud. The Nigeria musician regained his freedom this afternoon. 

CBN New Money Policy

The Central Bank of Nigeria CBN has directed all commercial banks and other financial institutions to inform their respective customers, that from January 9th 2023, it will be difficult withdrawing above 100,000 weekly for individual and 500,000 for corporate establishment. In a new twist, the house of representatives speaker directed the central bank to suspend the directive to commercial banks to enable proper briefing on the matter.  Angry with the N100,000 weekly cash withdrawal limits recently set by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and its attendant economic and social challenges, the House of Representatives at Thursday plenary asked the Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele to suspend implementation of the policy. Emefiele was asked to cause an appearance Thursday next week to explain to the House on the impact and significance of the new policy.

The Nigeria national petroleum corporation NNPC in a show of shame was pin point as the main cause of the hardship being suffered by the citizens as a result of artificial fuel scarcity. Nigeria is being hit with some of its worst flooding in over a decade with more than 500 deaths Authorities say that more than one million people have been displaced so far. So sad to see the hundreds losing their lives in the floods in the various states of Nigeria! May their souls Rest In Peace! Need strong climate action. Adaptation and mitigation plans need to kick in.
